Most disappointing that this mission critical domain does not have at least one nameserver on a totally and geographically separate network.
There are plenty of secondary DNS providers out there to provide geographic separation. Eg xname.org

Hi James,
They are on seperate networks, both those networks had issues today, it was a total anomally and we've never had it happen before. Basically one of the networks that was hosting dns failed, and another that was doing secondary dns had a null route at the same exact time. Very sorry about this, but it was setup with redundancy in mind, but a total fluke in that the geographically different networks failed at the same second. -Steven |
